An 11-room boutique hotel

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do you serve breakfast?

No, we do not serve breakfast. We like to encourage visitors to check out and support the local businesses in town. Hermann has two great coffee shops and a tavern for weekday breakfast, and a couple awesome spots for weekend brunch. Our Explore Hermann page will give you more info on that. We do have coffee and tea (a Keurig) available all day, everyday in our lobby.

Does my room receive a daily cleaning?

Your room will be clean as a whistle when you arrive, but does not receive a cleaning daily while you stay at the hotel. If any extraordinary circumstances arise, we will be happy to assist. If staying for 3+ nights, please arrange the best time for cleaning with us upon check-in.

Do you do wedding blocks?

We do not offer traditional room blocks for weekend weddings. With only 11 rooms, we’re a very small property and it doesn’t work well for us the way it does for larger hotel properties. We do, however, offer a full property buyout option, which is ideal for groups. Please contact us for more information.

Do you allow children?

Children under 12 years of age are not permitted at The Vinchester. Many of our guests are here for a quiet, relaxing time away (sometimes as a break from their kiddos!) and for this reason, young children at our small property are not a good mix. During off-season and during the week, we will make exceptions for certain scenarios, but not without a conversation first. Please call and ask and do not assume it’s okay to bring a group of toddlers for a wedding weekend. Hermann has so many wonderful guest houses for families!

IS THE VINCHESTER PET FRIENDLY?

Unfortunately, no, we are not pet friendly. However, our sister property, The Schiller House, is! Just around the corner from Vinchester, the 3 bedroom/2 bath house and separate garden cottage offer privacy, hardwood floors and yard space- all perfectly set up to accommodate your furry family member!

Where do I park?

We have a private guest parking lot behind the hotel, accessible by driving up the alley between 2nd and 3rd streets. You are also welcome to park on 3rd Street, in front of the Vinchester.
If you’re riding the Katy, we have secure, indoor bike storage via our lower level event space. Make a note when you reserve your room and we’ll send you details prior to your stay.

Are you close to the wineries?

We are located in the heart of Hermann’s Historic District, in a truly prime location. We’re at Schiller & 3rd Streets, surrounded by restaurants, bars, shops, etc. There is one winery in town/walkable- Hermannhof. The others are a short (5-10 min) drive, and that’s where the Hermann Trolley comes in. For $20/day, the trolley will pick you up in front of the Vinchester and transport you to and from the wineries.

when is the best time to visit hermann?

This answer all depends on the experience you want to have. Weekends are (naturally) the most lively in town. You’ll find lots of tourists, live music at the wineries and the occasional festival. For a quiet, relaxing Hermann, we recommend visiting on Wednesday and Thursday nights. Monday and Tuesdays are extra quiet, with several restaurants closed. The wineries are open seven days/week and there is enough open to have a great experience, but your food options will be a bit limited. We recommend checking out VisitHermann.com for an updated list of our town business’ hours.

what amenities do you have for katy trail riders?

We love our Katy Trail rider guests and are proud to provide a designated Bike Room (new in 2022). The Bike Room offers a secure, indoor and street-level space with bike racks, a repair center with rack and tool kit, laundry and a complimentary beer fridge for a post-ride treat. Outside, a hose is provided for rinsing off after a muddy ride. When making your reservation, there is a place to note that you will need bike storage. We will send you the access info the morning of your stay.

Is there a common space for a group to gather?

If our event space is not rented for a private event, it is open for Vinchester guests to use between 7am-10pm. The space offers 10ft long wooden tables and benches with a variety of games and puzzles as well as a lounge area and TV. If you plan to gather in the space, please let us know in advance so we can confirm whether or not it is available. Outside guests are not permitted without advance permission.
